Warm blankets and clothing
In addition to the daily struggle for survival, the winter season in the mountains of Kayah State is even more characterized by worries and hardships for the poor families living there, for the family, for the children – even more so than in the warm season.
Because high up in the mountains, the temperature often drops below 0 degrees. The children freeze terribly – they have no warm clothes, let alone warm blankets. Often no shoes. The parents' daily earnings are just enough to survive. The result is – they get sick. And there is no medical care up there.
