Cyclone Mocha

With wind speeds of more than 250 km/h and a storm surge of more than 3 m in height, Cyclone Mocha hit the coastal region of Rakhine in Myanmar. There were floods in low-lying areas. In particular, Sittwe, the capital of Rakhaing, was hit hard.
Local media reported hundreds of deaths. Together with our partners BBS Building Better Society, Landsaid e.V. and Aktion Deutschland Hilft, we have launched a food security project here. More than 750 food packages have been distributed to affected Rohingya families.
