Internally displaced persons Shan State
Since the military coup in 2021, the hardship of the people has steadily increased. In the conflict areas, which are bombed from the air by the military almost daily, many people are fleeing from the military in their own country. Many of these families are dependent on help because they no longer have enough to eat. Due to the decline in the currency, food has become unaffordable for many families. Medications are almost unaffordable. Hospitals are often inaccessible.
Projekt Burma e.V. began to take care of the needs of refugees in Shan State. With our local partner Mobye Rescue Team, we have since been working hard to improve the needs of children and their families. Through targeted support with food packages for the most vulnerable families, that is, families with many children, pregnant women, the elderly and disabled persons. School meals for children, school supplies and regular health checks for children by a mobile clinic are also part of the program.
We want to help ensure that children suffer less from malnutrition, have a reasonably regular daily routine through regular school attendance, and thus offer them a future.
