Myanmar. About 32% of the population in Myanmar lives below the poverty line.

This prevents children from enjoying their basic rights. Children from rural areas are particularly affected. The lack of accessible hospitals in the villages of Kayah State has a significant impact on the health of children from poor families. About 70% of children in Myanmar die before they are 5 years old.

The lack of medical equipment and competent personnel has a significant impact on the health of children, especially for children from poor families. In fact, about 70% of children in Myanmar die before the age of five. Malnutrition is one of the major problems.

In the villages of Kayah State, children have to take care of their younger siblings at a very young age while their parents work in the fields. As a result, many older children are unable to attend school. Most families have never heard of healthy nutrition for children, or have heard very little about it.

We ensure that around 130 children in five kindergartens in the mountain villages of Kayah State receive a healthy lunch almost every day. They are safe in kindergarten while their parents work in the fields. We also ensure that a medical team regularly visits the children in our kindergartens, enabling us to recognize any health problems in the children in good time.

We educate parents about children's rights, healthy eating and education through regular courses in which they participate.
