Earthquake March 2025

On March 29, 2025, a severe earthquake shook Myanmar. It was one of the most violent earthquakes in decades. Over 3,400 people lost their lives, over 5,000 were injured, and there are still many injured. The regions around Mandalay, Naypyidaw, Upper Myanmar, and rural areas, where people already struggle with difficult living conditions, have been particularly affected.

In the first few weeks, thanks to many large and small donations, we were able to reach a large number of households with urgently needed relief supplies.

The following items were distributed:

• Fresh drinking water
• Solar lights
• Mosquito nets
• Tarpaulins for the quick construction of emergency shelters
• Rice, cooking oil, and instant curry paste
• Pans, plates, spoons, bowls
• And in individual cases, cash for essentials

No matter how impassable the terrain was, our team always managed to reach even those who had not yet received any help
